In 2021, the Gates Foundation donated $200 million to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Of that amount, $100 million was specifically earmarked for Afghanistan. 

The foundation has said that it will continue to fund polio vaccination campaigns in Afghanistan, even though the Taliban control parts of the country.

The Gates Foundation has said that it is committed to eradicating polio, and that it will work with any group that is willing to help. 

The foundation has also said that it is important to build trust with the Taliban, in order to ensure that polio vaccination campaigns can continue in Afghanistan.
